The Tamil Nadu Nursery Primary Matriculation Higher Secondary and CBSE Schools Association has been urging the government to exempt school vehicles from running on the road from March 2020 due to the Corona curfew.

In response to this request, which had been lying dormant for several months, the Commissioner of Transport 07.09.21 Issued an order on  Accordingly, school vehicles not running by 30.09. 2021 are advised to apply for SPR A (Stopage Report) at the concerned transport offices and get the vehicle tax settlement (Tax Nill Assessment).

Accordingly, from April 2020 to September 30, 2021, a stoppage fee of Rs. 2520 per vehicle will be charged.

Even if the insurance paid for this period and the vehicle tax are paid, they will all be extended for future periods.

He said appropriate action would be taken to deduct the tax for non-operational periods for school and college vehicles that do not operate on the road if the SPR is given by the 30th of this month.
